Short History How ToZ Developed As A Community

Inception
When Diablo II was released it became the game of the decade and brought serious gamers together world wide. As we know there are always gamers out there that think because it's a game and is on the internet they can do what ever they like. Over the next years the quality of gamers deteriorated to a point that players were there to be abusive, out to scam or steal, run bots and pk everyone just because they could. At that time our group was Clan DST and yes we were a warring clan just like the rest but it was built on respect for each other, loyalty and protectors of the weak. Clan DST has some of the best duellers ever like Dragon_DST, BlueAdept_DST, Wolf_DST, Crimzon_DST, Zap_DST, Washee_DST just to mention a few. When Blizzard decided to kill off the open realm duelling by going to patch 1.10 it was the beginning of the end for the warring clans. It didn't take long and the clans started to disappear. Some are still around but most are inactive now days.
We found a community that was hosting their own Diablo II game servers called D2 Haven and were hosting D2 1.09d mods. Other clans also joined so we had a home to continue dueling on a competitive bases with other clans. Sadly D2 Haven moved on to Guild Wars and eventually shut down their D2 servers. In 2003 Clan DST started hosting our own D2 realm mainly for clans and Apocalypse realm created and affiliated with Ladderhall as this is the home to all active clans. Then the time came that we needed to have our own forums as our membership grew so we changed our name from DST Realm to Diablo II Realms. Over the next 2 to 3 years it became apparent that we needed to have our own true identity and not riding on the D2 name. After much debate we decided to change our name again to Temple of Zakarum as we were becoming mainly a closed realm gaming community.
We have had our ups and downs over the years but we have survived. Our endeavour is and always will be for gamers to have a family friendly place to call their home away from home where they can have the ultimate gaming experience free from abusive behaviour, scammers and thieves where we have respect for each other where community values come first and foremost.
